How to make a passport size photo

  1. Add a photo with your face centred and well lit.
  2. Choose the size. The frame keeps that shape as you drag.
  3. Position the frame so your head fills the correct portion. Check your authority's guidance on head size.
  4. Press Make the photo. Add a KB limit first if the form needs one.

Good to know

  • Sizes of 35 x 45 mm and 2 x 2 inch are widely used, but rules vary by country and document. Always check the official requirements.
  • This tool crops and sizes. It does not change the background, so take the photo against a plain light wall.
  • At 300 DPI a 35 x 45 mm photo is 413 x 531 pixels, and a 2 x 2 inch photo is 600 x 600 pixels.

Questions

Does it change the background?

No. It crops, resizes and sets the DPI. Take the original photo against a plain, evenly lit background.

What are the right dimensions?

That depends on the country and document. Check the official guidance, then enter the size in millimetres or pick a preset.

How do I keep it under 50 KB?

Type 50 in the size limit box. The tool lowers the JPG quality until it fits, without changing the pixel size.
