How to rotate images online

Good to know

  • Turns of 90, 180 and 270 degrees are exact and lose nothing.
  • Other angles make the canvas larger so no corner is cut off. The empty corners are transparent in a PNG and filled with your colour in a JPG.
  • Photos from phones sometimes show sideways because of a hidden orientation tag. This tool applies what your browser shows.

Why is my photo sideways?

Phones record the way they were held in a tag, and some programs ignore it. Rotating here and saving gives you a picture that is upright everywhere.

Is rotating lossless?

In 90 degree steps the pixels are only moved. A JPG is saved again, at high quality.

Can I straighten a crooked horizon?

Yes, use Another angle with a small number such as 2 or negative 1.5.
