How to blur or hide part of an image

  1. Add a picture.
  2. Drag on it to select what to hide.
  3. Choose blur, pixelate or a solid box, then press Hide the selected area.
  4. Repeat for other areas, then press Download the image.

Good to know

  • For passwords, account numbers and anything else sensitive, use the solid box. Blur and pixelation can sometimes be partly reversed, a solid box cannot.
  • The hiding is applied to the full-resolution picture, not just the preview.
  • Hidden areas are permanent in the file you download. Keep your original in case you change your mind.

Questions

Is blurring secure?

For faces at a distance, it is fine. For text, numbers or anything that must stay secret, use the solid box, because blurred text can sometimes be recovered.

Can I undo one area?

You can undo all changes and start again. There is no step-by-step undo.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. You draw the selection with your finger.
