How to convert HEIC photos to JPG
- Add your HEIC photos, straight from your phone or a transfer.
- Choose JPG for the smallest files or PNG for lossless.
- Press the button. The first conversion loads a small helper, so it takes a moment longer.
- Download the files or all of them as a ZIP.
Good to know
- The conversion happens in your browser. The photos are not uploaded anywhere.
- Safari can already open HEIC, so on a Mac or iPhone this uses the browser's own decoder and needs no extra download.
- On other browsers a small converter library is fetched the first time. If your connection blocks it, you will see a message instead of a broken result.
Questions
Why are my iPhone photos HEIC?
HEIC stores photos in about half the space of JPG at similar quality. Apple made it the default, but support elsewhere is patchy.
Can I make my iPhone save JPG instead?
Yes: Settings, Camera, Formats, then choose Most Compatible. Photos taken afterwards are JPG.
Will the conversion lose quality?
A little, since JPG is lossy. At quality 92 or above the difference is not visible.
