How to increase an image's file size
- Add the picture that is too small.
- Enter the minimum size the form asks for.
- Press the button. The tool saves it at high quality and, if that is not enough, enlarges the pixel dimensions.
- Download it and check the pixel size is still acceptable to the form.
Good to know
- There is no trick here. The file gets bigger because it is saved at higher quality and, if needed, more pixels. Nothing hidden is appended to the file.
- Enlarging a picture adds file size but not real detail. A small picture made bigger looks the same, just in a larger file.
- If the form also has a maximum size, set the minimum a little above its lower limit so you stay inside the range.
Questions
Does this make the picture better?
No. It makes the file larger, which is what the form checks. The visible detail stays what it was.
Why not just add padding to the file?
Padding is a hack that can break validators and looks suspicious. Raising quality and size is an honest change that works everywhere.
What if I need it within a range?
Set the minimum here, then use the compress tool with the maximum. Because both aim near the limit, you can usually land in between.
